MARTI LIDDLE-LAMETI
"I paint with fibers. The tactile, visual and olfactory stimulation of working with textiles, lends itself well to the inspiration I find in nature. Working in wools, silks and other fibers, as well as found objects, I am able to create art in a sustainable way, using recycled fabrics whenever possible. I remember learning to cross stitch and knit, mend and sew probably before I could even read. After I received my BFA, I began exploring how I could translate what I had learned into cloth. My current focus has been on showcasing the esthetics of devastation (natural as well as man-made) and the Japanese tradition of Forest Bathing."
