About Desmond
Former Chicago Bear, Desmond Clark started a campaign a few years ago called 'Pink Tuesday'. His mother died of breast cancer on a Tuesday. For a year, he wore a pink tie every day in honor of his mother. After a year, he changed from wearing a pink tie every day to wearing something pink on Tuesday. The movement started to grow and it now includes all cancers.
Desmond is a former star NFL Tight End, Entrepreneur, Philanthropist, Author, Speaker, and Inspirational Business Coach. During his 12 year tenure in the NFL, he played with the Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins, and 8 years with the Chicago Bears, retiring as the second leading Tight End in Bears history for catches, yards, and touchdowns behind only Hall of Famer Mike Ditka. Before entering into the NFL, Desmond set Wake Forest University receiving records and finished his college career as all-time leading receiver in Atlantic Coast Conference history and a degree in communications.
Since retiring from football, Desmond has blazed an impressive path as an financial advisor, inspirational speaker and entrepreneur. In his first year as a full-time advisor with MassMutual Chicago, he finished top 5 in assets accumulated for 2017 before moving on to Co-Own his insurance agency, The Insurance People.
Desmond has spoken and consulted for companies, associations, and schools across the nation including Fortune 500 health care company Baxter, Chicago United, IL Diversity Council, BOMA-Building Owners and Managers Association, Avon Farms Boarding school, First Institute Medical School, American Cancer Society, to name a few.
He has appeared on ABC, Fox, CBS, NBC, WGN, ESPN, Comcast News Makers and other network TV and radio stations as a thought leader, author, speaker, philanthropist, entrepreneur, and coach. Desmond is the author of Before and Beyond the Game and currently writing his second book Principles of Winning. In 2012 Desmond was named Mentor of the Year by Congressman Danny Davis for his work in the Chicago and Polk County Florida Communities.
After 3 years as President of NFL Alumni Chicago, Desmond stepped away from the position to start The Desmond Clark Foundation which helps economically challenged cancer patients receive the treatment they desperately need.
At every level in life Desmond has proven success is not an option, it’s a requirement. He demands the same from everyone he encounters. Desmond made the intentional decision after retiring from the NFL to work with individuals, families, and audiences big and small to give back all the expertise given to him to help people achieve their greatest success.
